Thats because something GOES WRONG WHILE INSTALLING ALL THIS AND YOUR SCENES SOUNDS ARE MISSING AGAIN. Windows asks do you want to replace this folder with this folder and you say yes. then when it asks to replace the files inside you say no.

So where is my mistake? how can i get them into the addon list?


They wont appear in the extras menu but they will appear in the play Addon Campaign menu is you moved over the Missions folder from L4D.

Extract this to L4D2 directory.

Hm. I have Vista and I can merge files. Not that I've downloaded this and tried anyways, but I've done it before.

Yes, i got it working and it is in the addon section.

But there is a bug in the first death toll map. you spawn in a texture and are not able to move. is there a fix for that?

How do you use the Hex editor? Anyone have a tutorial our can you edit the file and post it. Does the Mission Folder go just in the L4D2 folder our do I open it up and place it somewhere.


I found this on CNET and it worked. http://www.hexworkshop.com/ You can use the Find button at the bottom and toggle it to text and type in population and it will find it. I made a copy just in case before I did this.

Sorry for asking so many newb questions but I am sure some of my questions are echoed bye my fellow newbs here.


Also thank you so much I did everything you said here and it worked no more rave zombies. No mercy L4D2 rocks lol I got to the end with friends and the radio wouldn't allow me to hit it twice. It glows blue when you git there and once you hit it you hear no sound and nothing happens. I waited like 3-5 min and kept trying to hit it and still nothing. Just a minor bug I will try the map again and see if it works, hopefully it will not be every time idk.

I have tried it in Single Player and Co-op no difference the map is flawless and awesome all the way to the finale lol

srry but i got a another question, every time i download the huge file my internet locks when it says some seconds are ramaining, just when im almost finnished with the downloading, i can never download the file. and also after that my internet wont open load pages for around 5 minutes. plz help

I have tried out several of the L4D maps and about half so far the switches don't work. Especially when the switch needs to be hit twice like when its a radio. I also don't get any sound once I hit it like in no mercy when you hit the radio the 1st time and the pilot talks to you. I am fairly certain I transfered all the sound files from part one will check it again. Even with no sound on that one I hit it the 1st time and waited around 3-5 min trying it and still couldn't start the finally. So the main issue is the switch the sound is a minor one. These are the bugs I have found so far hopefully they will release the authoring tools soon and all this will be a mute point I think, they are in closed beta atm.

]I found this zombie while playing Death Toll in L4D2 and have never seen it before. It is called a Fallen Surviver [url] http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/Uncommo ... n_Survivor /url] and it is apparently a cut UCI. So I guess he only popped out through a bug.

I am not sure if this happened to anyone else but it seems the new Update reset the pak01_dir so I had to open it back up with the Hex editor and change the Population line again. So if the Techno colored zombies have returned just change the line again and it will fix itself.

srry for my another noob post but i extracted the vpk file into the left for dead 2/left for dead2 folder but it didnt work. still have errors and stuff where do i have to put the huge vpk file?

Just my opinion but since I don't think the code has been written for the L4D to recognize the new weapons. They cant spawn but im sure soon they will work on that mod as well. Especially sense I have seen some cool mods where they are making new weapons.

I would run a check for Spyware, Viruses , and do a registry error and maybe even defrag your system lol I don't think this mod could do anything like that. I downloaded everything that this mod needs and so did all my friends and they had no issues.

Ok for this one you want to put the L4Dassets file inside your addons folder in L4D2 main folder. Then you need to double click the file and it should work. Alot of people don't realize you need to click the file.

Ok, Everything works perfectly except... The Survivors don't talk, no matter what! Also I was playing Dead air and I couldn't hear the plane guy talking in the radio. I did rebuild audio cache. Thanks :|

Sound/Scene Help?

For some reason the survivors don't speak at all, not even a grunt. And the beginning scene for each campaign doesn't show. Also, when i shoot my shotgun i can hear it in the left ear but not the right(i have a headset). How do I fix it? Everything else works great.

--NVM i got the sound to work, i had to verify my game cache and it fixed it. but now i got the flourescent zombies and the scenes still dont work.

If you get the florescent zombies then your pak01_dir file probably slipped back to population. Just go back in and use the Hex editor again and check if it is. And if it is change it back to papulation and if its not I have no idea.

As of right know the movie at the beginning of the L4D maps cant play so you just stand there till the time they would have played is over its no big deal. And I think the mod makers haven't found out how to get the sounds to play, like when you play a crescendo and the npc talks to you.


So far the main bugs are the L4D1 Levers don't seems to be the same in L4D2 and the sounds but other then that this mod is great.

ok i got the sounds to work and theyre not any flourescent zombies. the only bugs i have are the scenes at the beginning which i could care less about, sometimes when the bots or i attack a fire will break out randomly, and in Death Toll the church guy doesnt speak and keeps ringing his bell and never lets u in.

What did you do to get the sound to work? The Church Guy is a known bug sense the beginning of the Mod guess its a tough one. The random Fire is from a UCI called the Fallen Survivor It has a molatav strapped to its chest and if you shoot him our melee him it goes off.

i read in some other posts that no mercy and soon blood harvest are availible with l4d 2 guns, but a question will it work with this mod? cuz the no mercy is a vpk file and i am afraid it will delete the other maps. the vpk file is just as big as the vpk file for this maps but i am not sure the other includes all maps :/

i have also discovered a bug. at dead toll when i come to the cuhrch and survive the vave the churchbell just keeps ringing and never stop. the saferoom dor wont open, the churchguy spawns as a zombie but the door cant get opened. am i the only one that gets this bug?

how come this thread doesn't mention the fixed maps?

this map still only says you should use the l4d1 maps verbatim as they are.

the other thread has a link to an archive with fixed map files (.bsp).

I'm puzzled.

Though i do have a question, basically youve done all the work for us. So is it that all we really need is the VPK file? I see you have one for No Mercy, so i guess that means your workin on the rest of them as well?

did everything and it works except the survivors don't talk and everything has generic sounds to it. how do i fix the sound issues? ive done the above suggestions including uninstalling and reinstalling but the lack of correct sounds remains.
