Thats because something GOES WRONG WHILE INSTALLING ALL THIS AND YOUR SCENES SOUNDS ARE MISSING AGAIN. So just copy over the scenes folder again and it should work, no we cant merge with xp or vista (or at least with my copys). The best way to do this is add the big vpk dl and do this the old way before he changed it. I copied all my pak_02 files and the other stuff over on my wifes and it works great other than the glowing zombies.
I have Vista and the fuck are you talking about merging?
Windows asks do you want to replace this folder with this folder and you say yes. then when it asks to replace the files inside you say no.
WINDOWS XP DOES THIS ASWELL.

So just here what i've done:
1. copied the maps, sounds, scenes folders from l4d into the l4d directory.
2. copied the l4d VBKs with a changed name into l4d2 directory.
3. downloaded the huge VPK file and installed it. (yes, it's shown up in the addons).
4. downloaded the files from step 3 and put it into the right directories (the l4d2 zombies are in the l4d maps).
5. opened the pak01_dir with a hex editor and changed population to papulation.
6. SnD_Rebuildaudiocache in the console.
results: maps are working, no glowing zombies, but the zombies of l4d2, but they are only startable with the console.
So where is my mistake? how can i get them into the addon list?
They wont appear in the extras menu but they will appear in the play Addon Campaign menu is you moved over the Missions folder from L4D.
Extract this to L4D2 directory.
